William Lupton - Organist

William Lupton has been an organist since the age of ten and has played in parishes throughout the Anglican Diocese of Huron including ten years at St Paul’s Cathedral as associate organist.

He came to St Martin-in-the-Fields in October 2011. He is also Organist and Director of Chapel Music at Huron University College London and teaches in the Faculty of Theology. He is accredited in church music and organ performance both in Canada and England.

William is President and CEO of the Royal School of Church Music Canada, Chair of the Niagara-Huron Chapter, and Administrator of the RSCM Singing Awards.

In December 2016, the RSCM Council in England elected him as an Associate upon the recommendation of the RSCM Canada Board based upon his work as President from 2007 to 2013. The citation reads:

 “William Lupton was the national president after the incorporation of RSCM Canada in 2007. His was the vision and energy that directed the organization forward for many years. He continues to provide valued advice, vision and opinion in a guiding role as a member of the RSCM Canada Board. We thank him for his encouragement in the work of the RSCM.”

​William Lupton is one of only ten Canadians since 1963 entitled to use the ARSCM designation.
